WHO WE ARE

WHY WE ARE HERE AND WHY WE WANT YOU TO BE WITH US

Jackie has stated that the purpose of his fan clubs is to promote international friendship and understanding through a common interest.

The USA fan club started on February 24, 1995. It is intended to be a place where fans of all ages of the great Jackie Chan can learn more about him and his movies, find out what he's doing, meet fellow Chan Fans, and most importantly, a way of thanking Jackie for all he has done for us. In the time since we started, we have had members in twenty three countries, six continents, 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

 

WHAT YOU GET AND HOW TO JOIN

WHAT YOU GET:
    • NEWSLETTER with photos and factual information.
    • MEMBERSHIP PACKET containing a copy of Jackie's message recognizing the USA Fan Club, membership card, and some of our special pictures, including one of our photos taken at the Star on the Walk of Fame ceremony. You'll also receive two photo stickers. Look for them on your membership card and on the outside of your envelope when you get your membership packet. For as long as supplies last, you will also receive at least one trading card from Jackie's autobiography promotions, other items that come our way, and a sticker from The Medallion. Renewing members receive a photo as a thank you for renewing. Each year I pick a different one of the fan club's best photos for the renewal photo.
    • We send a birthday card each month to a lucky fan club member signed by Jackie, so be sure we have your birthdate!  
    • EXCLUSIVE MERCHANDISE
    • SURPRISES (we never know what might come up next, so be prepared to move fast. One of our last opportunities came with less than 24 hours notice!)
    • The fan club makes a contribution to an organization whose efforts go to promote international friendship and understanding as our gift to Jackie at Christmas time and for his birthday. The organization we have chosen for now is the Portland Classical Chinese Garden which is an authentic Suzhou urban-style Chinese garden in Portland.
    • Until September 14, 2000, there wasn't an authentic uban-situated Chinese clasical garden in the United States. The garden in Portland was made in cooperation with its sister city Suzhou in the People's Republic of China.
    • Sometimes we are able to arrange special events for members to meet Jackie. (We do not promise that you can meet Jackie if you join our fan club. That's not why you should join our or any fan club. You do it because you love him and want to show your support.) That said, we have had lots of opportunities to meet Jackie personally and I will work hard to see to it that those opportunities continue.

HOW TO JOIN

  • Memberships are $36/year* and are for 13 months from the date of joining. Please note that because of increased costs, dues went up to $36/yr starting January 1, 2003.

  • * If your mailing address is outside the United States, please note there is an additonal charge for postage and handling, for a total of $48US, or $45 for Canada and Mexico, for membership in the USA fan club. Renewals will be $45 and $43 respectively. Payment must be in US dollars and drawn on a US bank or else use an international money order please. If you must use cash, please send it by registered mail, but sending cash is not recommended.

    If the membership is a gift, and/or you have a special date     by which you need to have the membership packet, please let me know. Although unfortunately, I can't make any promises, I'll do the best I can to accomodate you.

Jackie is holding a special mug made for supporters of the Portland Classical Chinese Garden. This mug was given to Jackie by the Garden and was presented to him in Hong Kong during the fan club visit to the set of GORGEOUS on December 4, 1998.

 Any other benefits for our members?

Ask member John Evans, who not only got to take this great photo with Jackie, but who met his bride through the fan club!! (Wedding pictures) And although Yen-shi didn't get to go to San Francisco to meet Jackie, she did get to thank him on the phone April 5, 1997, at the THIRD ANNUAL USA JACKIE CHAN BIRTHDAY PARTY when Jackie called us all the way from Hong Kong!! Oh yes, and he sent a big box of gifts too. WHAT A GUY!! (Of course, we can't promise that you will experience the same benefits as John. In fact we can promise you won't!)

Jackie Chan Fan Club, USA was a member of the National Association of Fan Clubs.

I have heard that NAFC has closed. I am unable to reach them to verify this report. Perhaps that says it all.
